Nikon Coolpix S4000 vs L830 (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

What would be the advantages of upgrading from my current Nikon Coolpix S4000 to the L830 for birding purposes? I would be interested in a new camera later this year perhaps for around $200. I've been researching and my options seem to be the Nikon L830 or either the Canon sx50 (a little more $$) for entry level cameras of that type. If you have any other camera suggestions I'm all ears!

I would look at the Canon SX50HS. Longer reach, Raw, better Image Stabilising and you should be able to pick one up cheap as the SX60 is out now.

Thanks! That seems to be a highly talked-about camera. I'll keep an eye out for one to dip in price later this year.
