Nikon Coolpix S4000 vs L830 (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

What would be the advantages of upgrading from my current Nikon Coolpix S4000 to the L830 for birding purposes? I would be interested in a new camera later this year perhaps for around $200. I've been researching and my options seem to be the Nikon L830 or either the Canon sx50 (a little more $$) for entry level cameras of that type. If you have any other camera suggestions I'm all ears! :)

Thanks!

I would look at the Canon SX50HS. Longer reach, Raw, better Image Stabilising and you should be able to pick one up cheap as the SX60 is out now.
Neil.
