I live in a mining village in North Notts and just looked out of my window to see a Woodcock in my garden. Not only a new visitor to my garden but also a lifer for me. Brilliant. Anyone else had any new and very welcome visitors because of the cold snap?

Excellent garden tick this cold weather seems to be bringing quite few Wooodcocks in to gardens.

Around lunch today I was about to re-fill the bird's water dish in the garden and I heard an unusual trilling coming from the Poplar trees we have. I went back for my bins and was able to confirm that we had around 30 Waxwings in the tops of the trees. A brilliant garden first for us! Not had a Woodcock though...:t:
