by the way.. have you had any experience with birds nesting in these? if they work they'd be very good! cheap and disposable.

Not a bad idea, cut hole inside a garden shed or garage and site the box on a shelf , making sure it is well glued down.

I'd think here since both spring and fall have long slow absorbent rains that it would not work here.
