I live near chesterfield in England and in my small garden i probably get around 20 different types of birds as well as 2 sparrow hawks that are regular visitors. At a recent canal open day their was a guy with some owls so i told him about the sparrow hawks and he said you DONT have sparrow hawks in your garden , i offered to get the photos as i only lived 5 minutes away but he just said dont bother wasting your time fetching them.

I also get 3 squirrels at a time and please note ...... their is no such thing as a squirrel proof feeder.

I recently found " a mess " on my patio i did not want to stay up all night with my cannon 90d so i put out my camera trap ..... yes i know their not birds....

Hello and welcome :) Have you seen the peregrine on the spire. I had some great sightings last time I was there.

People who have their own obsessions but aren't birders aren't wild bird experts. Your experience with the owl handler is not untypical.

I like your pic of a male Sparrowhawk with a Goldfinch. Lucky you getting Badgers as well! Only one record of a random wanderer here.

Cheers

John
