My Manfrotto video head is stuck! (1 Viewer)

As the title reads..my Manfrotto head (701 HDV) is stuck so that I can not remove it from my tripod. It just spins around ..

Do you have any ideas on how to solve this?

Hi Jonas, Did you loosen the set/lock screws underneath the head on the tripod mount itself? There should be two screws up through the tripod plate takes a straight screwdriver of the right size. I hope this helps. Good luck!!

I think you need to clarify what is spinning around.

Do you mean the whole head is rotating but not coming off the tripod or the part of the head that's supposed to rotate is just rotating.

If it's the former is the 3/8" mounting screw on the tripod (that holds the head) is not fixed relative to the tripod? Does it have a screw head accessible from the bottom?

If it's the latter I think Steve hit the nail on the head.

Or you are rotating the head the wrong way: counter-clockwise to come off.

Or you aren't locking the azimuth to help get some torque on the mounting screw.

Hi Jonas, Oh I see so you loosened the screws and it came loose then, right?;) I am glad Kevin thought of that.:t:
