Hi everyone!

I am a young birder located in San Diego, California. I volunteer through the local Natural History Museum, and monitor nests, populations, and get overall birding experience. Recently I've been aiding with monthly bay point counts, among others. I am in highschool, but when I have time over the weekends, I have (in the past) helped with finding Tricolored Blackbird colonies and LeConte's Thrashers in the desert, along with monitoring Least Tern populations. I do have a decent camera, but I don't use it often, and when I do it's often easily photographed birds such as Snowy Egrets. I started keeping/maintaining a legit eBird life list as of December 2023, and I have about 350 species since, throughout the California, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. I don't bird for fun often, so my list is quite short, but I do sometimes check eBird for any unique birds near me. My favorite bird I've included in my life list is for sure the Great Green Macaw in Costa Rica, beautiful bird!
I am going to Denmark and middle France over the summer, so I hope I will add some to my life list when I'm there. Any birding-area suggestions are welcome!

Hi fishalish, welcome to the forum on behalf of the staff and moderators. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. I would ask in the information wanted area for suggestions for your trip:

Hi fishalish and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
