Mourning Dove (2 Viewers)

I have a mourning dove that has been frequenting my deck for well over a month now. The spot on her head in the picture was about twice the size than it is now. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?? She does not seem affected by it. She eats and drinks well. She interacts with her mate too. I just have never seen anything like this before. Thanks for any info you might have.

Hi Scoble and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. I'm not too sure, from your pictures, but it really does remind me of a Noisy Miner I encountered in Queensland, with a big clump of feathers on his nape.

Not seen any other bird looking like that, before or since; but keep an eye on him and see how he gets on.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
