Mottled or Willow Beauty? (1 Viewer)

Hello again,
I wonder if someone can tell me if these are Mottled or Willow Beauties, or something else?!
1st one taken 11th June and second 9th September.

I'd been tempted to comment on your earlier specimens, but withheld my ideas after others had said their piece, but as I'm the first here this time, I'll say what I think: I think they're both examples of Willow Beauty, because of the way that the cross-lines on the fore-wing converge towards the trailing edge in both specimens, although the line is not that clear elsewhere on the paler moth. I've had 2 x Mottled Beauty in the past 2 nights here in Budapest, and so have been looking at them a bit....but they're certainly not easy. See whether others agree with me before chalking it up!

Agree with these two as Willow Beauty. Surprised you've had Mottled this late, although I suppose flight times in your part of the world might be radically different- Mottled's been over here for about four weeks, according to my records.
