Moth for ID: probably Semioscopis avellanella (1 Viewer)

Found this on the window frame behind the back garden moth trap this morning. As far as I can see it fits Semioscopis avellanella perfectly, down to size which I have checked (moth currently potted in fridge). Confirmation or correction please?

Cheers

John

John,

That's a really good record for Hampshire which I'm sure would be gratefully received by Mike Wall, the county recorder.

I've sent it to him, originally for ID but now of course we know. Interestingly the first record on Hants Moths from my area is attributed to my friends Mick Scott and Mike McCarthy who got me into moths!
