Monopod (&head) recommendations? (1 Viewer)

Hi. I have an Opticron IS50 scope and a Fuji s5600 camera with teleconverter & would like to buy a monopod to use with both items.

I would be grateful for any advice on which to buy & whether I should get a separate monopod & head. I've seen a few monopods with ball & socket heads included but worry about carrying my scope over the shoulder on these. A quick release would probably be helpful for me too. £50 is about my limit.

I know I'm probably being a bit demanding but any recommendations would be helpful.

Ta Mick

You could try these:
Manfrotto 676B monopod-£30
Manfrotto 234RC monopod head-£24.95 (very strong yet compact, comes with one 200LP Q/R plate, which are £10.99 separately)-used by many professionals!
All available from warehouseexpress (link at top of this page).

This would obviously take you a little over £50. I have both items and can recommend them. Not the sturdiest monopod, but for the price, it is as light as virtually any carbon fibre monopod on the market, and would probably meet your needs adequately.
Personally I don't use it much, as I prefer a tripod for scope use.
Cheers, Steve
