looking for opinions on spotting scopes (1 Viewer)

I think you may be better served for your planned purpose in buying a bridge camera like the Nikon Coolpix P950 or Coolpix P1000. They have excellent image stabilization to compensate for camera shaking. With its built in Wifi you can move photos to a smartphone or use the SD memory card to send to friends.

I have used digiscoping with Pen cameras and with smartphones and they are a lot more awkward to use. If one already owns a scope then adding an adapter for use with a smartphone you have is worth considering. But otherwise the cost will be greater than purchasing a bridge camera with a zoom lens.

If you buy it from BH Photo in New York you can try it and return it at now cost within 30 days.
