Hi all, had this from the Gwen Hide at Abberton today, fairly sure it's a Lesser Scaup, one has been reported from the reservoir, going by size relative to the Tufties and head shape, however a Lesser Scaup was also reported from a different part of the reservoir, so i thought I would get some other opinions, apologies for the quality of the image light was terrible and was quite distant? Thanks in advance

You lucked in with that, was there on Thursday and the whole res was covered in heat haze. Did get drake smew, 8 BNG, 2 slav's and a lovely 1st winter casp and then the shrike and male hen at copt hall.

I think lucked is abit cheeky spent nearly 6 hrs looking through me scope today! :)We couldn't get the Smew, but had Black-throated and Great Northern Diver, 2 slavs, loads BN Grebe, RN Duck, Bewick Swan, White fronted Goose, Spoonbill and the Shrike. The shear number of Goosanders, Goldeneye, Great Crested Grebe and Great White Egret is astounding!
