Going to test the Leopold service this week sending in an Alpine binocular, not bad for the price however diopter needs service.
They no longer service the high end Golden Ring roofs, so if one sends one in you get a suitable replacement.

How did this end up for you? What constitutes a suitable replacement?

I have not got to it yet, however they will likely just provide me a new Alpine, since they are still in production. It would be difficult to determine what they provide as a replacement with other models not produced anymore.

Here's my own experience, only Maven takes a lot longer than Leupold at three whole months. Vortex 8 to 14 days, SIG 8 to 15 days, FeraDyne Covert Optics 10 days, Vanguard 8 to 14 days. This is including counting the total number of round trip shipping days and using their warranty on several occasions for various different models. Bushnell there's one I never got a replacement not even the defective one back after waiting more than five years still nothing and another previously took just over one month they replaced with a way cheaper Chinese made model to replace my Japan made one.

I sent in four Leupold bins for warranty which consisted of one each BX1 major diopter drift, BX2 eyecup defective, BX3 eyecup defective and BX4 Pro Guide brand spanking new totally utter shamefully crappy glass with way too much CA and it took 7 and a 1/2 weeks turnaround time for one and 9 weeks for the other due to backorder.

I opted to upgrade to two BX5 Santiams in 10x42 and 12x50 and the 10s are fantastic probably the clearest name brand $1000 MSRP bins I have so far which are much clearer than my Nikon Monarch HG 10x42 while the 12x50 is really shamefully junk. I think it may be defective based on how terrible the image quality really is with such very noticeable CA. My $609 Skyrover Banner Cloud APO 12x50 literally smokes it in every possible way imaginable. My Two BX5 15x56s are clearer than this 12x50 BX5.
