Leitz 7x42, needs cleaning with possible internal fungus? (1 Viewer)

I purchased these new in the mid 80's. They just don't seem as sharp. Kind of hazy compared to some newer Nikon ones.
I assume sending them to Leica would be the best option? Any other suggestions?

Start by giving Leica service a call and ask for an estimate. You may be better off sending
it to a private repair center such as Suddarth Optical. Figure on a minimum of $250.00.
Good luck. Welcome to the forum. Be sure and reply back with what you found.

Good advice by Jerry. I might add that the haze you see is not necessarily fungus, which often displays tiny filaments. If/when you get the opportunity, post a few pix of the internals and someone should be able to ID the situation. This may be important to do so before calling Leica repair, since IIRC they do not accept binoculars with fungus.
