Kowa 883 / Nikon D500 Advice (3 Viewers)

Hi, I have the above kit & was wondering how the camera body attatches to the adapter please? I've looked at images online but i just can't make out how it fits together at the body. The T2 ring doesn't seem to have any contacts like a regular F mount Nikon lens has to click into the body. Maybe i'm completely missing something so any info is much appreciated.

Also has anybody actually had much luck photographing this way?
