Ivory-billed Woodpecker Habitat (1 Viewer)

I just returned from a second trip this year to the Big Woods area of Arkansas and thought I'd share a few pictures of the Dagmar WMA, Apple Lake Waterfowl Area, and Bayou DeView with interested viewers. The photos (~50) can be seen on my web page at The photos are in the album, http://www.pbase.com/dlee/arkansas___big_woods___winter . Unhappily, I didn't manage a sighting of an Ivory Bill, but had a great time anyway. While I have been in the area many times, this is my favorite time of year...No snakes and mosquitoes! I still can't get over the number of geese in the area, what a beautiful sight.

I highly recommend the Apple Lake Wildfowl Rest Area's hiking and canoe trails. The area is easy to access, with good parking, close to Brinkley, AR, and Dagmar WMA. Its an easy, senic walk with a fair number of birds.
