is there any type of bird reporting service in France please?
either “rare bird alert / BirdGuides“ style or local groups which are regularly updated?

I’ve just spent 2 weeks birding in northern France - using eBird as my primary source of info but it’s not really used very much so many of the records are out of Date ….

(Even at the “most reported hotspots” there seems to be very few birders)

Nationally, there is this for rarities. Observations | Ornithomedia.com

And regionally, there is the 'faune' network - e.g. Faune Bretagne for Brittany. Can be used for reporting birds and anything else. Accueil - www.faune-bretagne.org
