I was doing a little cooking and on opening the large box where dry goods are kept I found a couple of packets with old dates.
Lentils vertes run out 2012 and Broth & soup mix with all sorts of peas, beans and the like, run out date 2013. Personally I think that as they are unopened and dry beans sort of thing they would be alright but I made the mistake of telling my wife the dates.
I wondered if such stuff is alright to put on my bird table or should it be soaked after all birds do eat wheat and the like. I don't want to choke them.

You'll probably find that all this brings is Pigeons?

You won't choke them, haven't you ever noticed Tits take a large seed and chisel bits off to eat, they won't try and swallow them.
