Is it possible to hire scopes - UK (5 Viewers)

Stoggler

Getting to grips with young gulls
Unable to afford a scope of my own at the moment (whose bright idea was it to get engaged just as my birding takes off...?), I was wondering if it's possible to hire scopes for the odd day from anywhere? Do manned-RSPB reserves offer such a service, or anywhere else for that matter?

Thanks

I'm sure you could find somewhere that would hire you a scope, but I think looking for a decent cheap scope would be a better option. Some of the older Opticron and Kowa models can be had for good prices (£100-150) there are also some decent new scopes for a similar price. This Acuter http://www.cleyspy.co.uk/st16-48-x-65a-i807.html is a superb buy at £99 it is an ideal starter scope and if you can afford it would probably work out cheaper in the long run that hiring (plus you'd always have it when needed).
