Injured Seagull (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I’m Jen and I live in Cornwall, England. I currently have a family of seagulls living on my roof. One of the 2 babies parents has an injected leg. I think there may be fishing line around its ankle still and the leg is quite discoloured so I am guessing blood flow is restricted. Any ideas on who to contact who might help locally?
I am aware that a lot of people see gulls as pests but I don’t like to see any animal suffer and it is clearly in pain.
Many thanks.

Welcome to Birdforum.

Is there a wildlife centre near you? You could contact your local vets.

Hi Jen and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. Try this site and see if you can get the information you need: Information about RSPCA Cornwall Branch on HelpWildlife.co.uk Bear in mind that it is very difficult to catch birds that can fly.

All is not lost necessarily, though as I've seen many birds managing very well with only one foot. But please let us know how you and he gets on.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi Jen, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. Delia has given some good advice, good luck.
