In the night garden..... (UK)

I'm afraid that you will probably only be able to answer this if you have young children in the UK! Anyone know what the Tittifers are on the cBeebies program In the Night Garden? Hoopoe is obvious as well as a Turaco sp. and a Toucan sp. (anyone know which species?). I'm lost on the blue ones with the white breast - some sort of Mannakin? Pic here.

Cheers

O

I believe the blue and white birds are Shaft-tailed Finches, Euro Hoopoe, White-cheeked Turaco and the Toucan is either Channel-billed or White-throated.......

EDIT: just looked up Shaft tailed Finch, the blue and white bird is NOT one of these!!

Thanks everyone! Sorry for the odd thread. I can gradually lose the will to live each evening knowing what the birds are!

Ive got a 2 year old and watch In The Night Garden as well and often wondered what the blue ones were ...now i know

I've hit that point in life where 'In the Night Garden' has intruded into my day (her first birthday is in two weeks), and tittifers represent about a fifth of the birds I encounter daily. Not being able to immediately identify the blue ones took an extra scoop from the hollowed-out shell of my former birding life each and every time, accompanied by that terrifying music.

Long-tailed Finch Poephila acuticauda is a non-starter, and they didn't look remotely Kokako to me no matter the level of photoshatting.
I always thought Garrulax when they appeared.
So I had a look today, proving once again how fabulous the HBW/BirdLife Checklist books really are, and I'm satisfied that they are Rufous-crowned Laughingthrush, done in a Blue Jewel-babbler paintjob. Probably because someone wanted Blue Jewel-babblers (who wouldn't) but got them from a bird stall in Taiwan 'special order'.

So we have White-cheeked Turaco Tauraco leucotis, Common Hoopoe Upupa epops, Channel-billed Toucan Rhamphastos vitellinus and Rufous-crowned Laughingthrush Garrulax ruficeps.

Does Makka Pakka need a referral for his ocd...?
