This picture was taken in a Southern California desert area. I wanted to include my daughter in the picture for size reference, but it doesn't do it justice. I estimate it to be 4-5' tall and 6' diameter. This is a desolate desert area, a very very tough environment in which to live. Any guess what build this magnificent nest. It appears to have been long abandoned. My guess is Golden Eagle but my bird knowledge is zero.

Don't have the foggiest idea but I can give you a warm welcome to Bird Forum ;) Enjoy.
Hopefully you'll get some suggestions shortly ;)

We were out hiking and didn't want to get too close. It was virtually impossible to reach anyway. Thanks Tom for your partial confirmation, which is really all anyone could do I suppose. Best of luck to them if it's an active nest!

Hi Bob and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. Sorry, I can be of no help at all!!!
