Hello everyone :)! I'm looking for a compact camera for taking amateur photos. Up until now I've been using a Nikon Coolpic B500- borrowed from my sister. I think was too slow. With a larger zoom there was little bit grainy photos. I'll be taking photos often while walking my dog and daughter, thhat why choice a compact camera.
My choice:
-Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 (although it has a fairly small zoom and sometimes finds a bird quite far away)
-Panasonic Lumix FZ300
-Nikon P900
-Nikon B700

From the ones you listed, P900, but it is quite old now and also a bit slow. P950 is also a bit old but much improved over the P900.

FZ-1000 out of that lot. It has a decent sized sensor (1") and a FF- equivalent zoom of 432 mm. You will be happier with that than that poxy 1/2,33" sensor of the FZ-300, even though it promises a FF equivalent of 600 mm.

I also think that might be the best choice for these reasons, will be good for birds in tall trees?

Yes. Considering deciduous trees in EU usually max out at ca. 40 m, that camera should be plenty. Also, you don't normally stand under the tree shooting up. Most people stand away from the tree and then shoot at some angle.

Have you already looked into the Sony RX100? Extremely compact with various versions. But I suggest Mark VII. Has 200mm equivalent lens. Not the chapest, but in its package possibly the best. Most of all, it has very fast reaction time. Electronics similar to the much larger Sony RX10M4.

Thans for info about that! I'm worried about the small zoom, I think I need at least 300mm. But take a look photos taken with the rx100 model... sharp, clear, they come out very nice, this model look interesting too

For birding, I suggest at minimum 600mm equivalent FOV. Birds are small and hard to get close to. Nor should we unnecessarily disturb them.

Do obserwacji ptaków sugeruję co najmniej 600 mm równoważnego pola widzenia. Ptaki są małe i trudno się do nich zbliżyć. Nie powinniśmy ich też niepotrzebnie niepokoic
I agree with you very much. It's important what you wrote. I remember during the holidays we was driving through the village, we saw a black stork (ciconia nigra) ,we didn't want to scare it away even by stopping the car for photos. I'm still glad that I saw it for the first time, not only in books.

Thank you for all your opinions and help choosing a camera. However, my choice fell on the Canon SX70hs, I thought for a long time, I looked at the photos from the cameras, I read the opinions, I'm going to pick it up soon.
