I am in NE Pennsylvania. This spring we have seen a new bird that looks a great deal like a huge robin that is rotund and very large. It also had a yellow beak and more of an orange breast. We simply cannot identify. Any takers?
I saw one too. it was at least twice the size of a robin. there were about six in a tree that i took a picture with my 600 mm camera. These birds dove strait down I have a picture from a distance. When you say huge, - in relation to what? American Robin fits your description, and is pretty huge compared to our European Robin, but if you mean huge in comparison to an American Robin, I'm lost too!
best of luck, and welcome to the forum!

If you check back on your original thread you will see that there is a consensus these birds were American Robins.I saw one too. it was at least twice the size of a robin. there were about six in a tree that i took a picture with my 600 mm camera. Yup I see that however, I have seen robins all my life and these appeared to me to be very large . Not puffed up , I could see them from a far distance and the tree is huge . If I see them again I will try to get better photos. I am not an expert obviously and my bird friends said the same thing you all said.If you check back on your original thread you will see that there is a consensus these birds were American Robins.
Ok - I actually went and got my lense because I wanted to know what the large birds in the giant tree were . It seems to be the consensus that they were Robins . I personally have never seen robins like these ones …Post the picture, no matter how poor. Birds seem larger when viewed through a magnifying optic, be it a spotting scope or long lens.......it is a type of perspective. But American Robins as suggested.
