How to play recordings for hawk deterrent? (1 Viewer)

Folks,

I want to play recordings of crows in our yard in an effort to help keep the hawks away from our chickens.

Is there some kind of hardware that would allow playing different recordings (that could be periodically changed) at random times? Assuming a weather proof Bluetooth speaker could be used for the audio?

Just didn’t know if there were existing devices for this or if I need to Jerry rig a solution?

Thanks!

HI. There are a number of predator calls on the market. They run off of batteries and are electronic. Cabela's carries them as does Amazon. Fox-pro is a good brand. You may also try placing crow decoys around the coop. I have never done to this to protect our chickens from raptors but it's worth a try.

Best preventative solution is good hawk-proof netting over your chicken runs. My local goshawks live off crows, so crow decoys or crow calls may actually attract hawks? SW
