How important is it to have "matching" coating colors on the eyepieces of binoculars? (1 Viewer)

So recently I had an eyepiece replaced on my EL 8x30, and when looking closely I see a slight bit of a hue difference on the coating reflections. I'd prefer not to have noticed it, but in practice I can see no difference in the color or performance.

Today, I received an near mint pair of Ultravid HD 8x50. The views are wonderful, as are the colors. Clean as a whistle. I noticed, however, that the two eyepieces are completely different coating colors. At some point Leica replaced one of them, apparently. Meanwhile the objectives match perfectly.

I am inclined to keep them because they are otherwise great, but I wonder, how important is it for the eyepiece coatings to "match"?

The left eyepiece seems to match the objectives, leaving the right eyepiece as the odd man out, as it were.

My guess is that it is totally irrelevant.

Those lenses should be looked through, not at.
Well, I feel better already, thank you both. Glad to know I am not alone with this predicament, and that it seems to be merely cosmetic.

I was doing some careful comparisons for color appearance, and any difference is virtually imperceptible between the two tubes. (One eye at a time... For me, eye to eye is always different colors, fascinating how the brain instantly combines the two).

I went out on limb by trying an 8x50 for the first time, and I have to say I am so far impressed. The weight penalty also is less than I was expecting, nice balance in the hand for the UV.

Looks like they will be keepers.

Not necessarily, although you could inquire. Some instruments are simply assembled this way from different lens batches. UV 50s are very nice, enjoy yours.
Thanks, I am just not going to worry about it. Either way they seem to be working just fine. If I send them in for something else later, maybe I will ask them to look at it.

My first impressions are very positive for the UV 8x50, glad I got off the fence and tried them.
