House wren and house finch building same nest (1 Viewer)

Hi there I live in an apartment currently ride by a hillside. Last year two wrens built a nest in our porch dryer vent. We loved it. This year two finches started building a nest in the same spot. I put a bird house up out there but they used the vent again. I also added a bird feeder and water which they love. The issue I’m seeing now is the wrens came back and they seem to be tag teaming the building of the nest. The finches are kinda getting pushed out it seems like and they only come for the seeds now. Although they keep looking at the vent and go in every now and then. Is this normal for two different species to compete/build over the same nest? Thanks!
