Herring Gull lost her young (1 Viewer)

All three of her young left the nest last Saturday and became grounded in the church yard opposite their nest. They were so much stronger than last years babies, and were flying immediately around the church, but once they landed they remained there all day and seemed to forget they could fly. By morning however, all three had disappeared and havent been heard or seen since. Foxes enter this yard in dozens by night so its obvious what has happened. The parents though are flying onto their nest (whats left of it) and look down on it making this pitiful noise. Are they just mourning the loss of their young or do they have intentions of rebuilding it and laying more eggs?

Thats horrible, poor parents :-C . my guess is that they are mourning/confused about their missing young but will have another brood.
