We have a bird box with a web camera at my school and some great tits laid 9 eggs a week ago. When will they hatch? Can we help to feed them by leaving food out? What sort of things can they eat?

Thanks o:D::clap:eek::D

Hi Lauren and a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Staff and Moderators.

How lovely to have a web cam set up for the children to follow the behaviour of these lovely birds. Great Tits eggs hatch after about 2 weeks. The adults will be look for insects and caterpillars for the chicks. So if you have a bird table you could put some meal worms on there. Along with seed for the adults to eat.

If you're very lucky there may be a second brood, but I think food would need to be abundant for this to happen.

Please keep us posted on their progress.
