Hello!
I have a pair of very committed cardinals who tap from dawn 'til dusk on my bathroom window. I read on another forum that it could be mating behavior and seeing their reflection. The window is very matted and not reflective but I've raised the window, tried to shoo them, placed paper on it to reduce possible reflection, all to no avail. The female is particularly excitable and pecks for hours on end. The male joins every now and then. Neither are very impressed with me as when I open the window and tell them to stop they stand inches away and turn their heads from side to side as if they're questioning me.
Any advice on how to get them to stop pecking? Although they're beautiful the incessant tic is driving me nuts! Oh and as a side note, this has been going on for over a month. Thanks!
