I was called into my neighbour today as she had a Young Gold Finch which had flew into her window and stunned itself. It is safe and well recovering with me will release him tomorrow felt it was too cold to let him go now as it has took him a coulple of hours to recover. Anyway he had a ring on it was Silver incolour and the number on it is L330764. Can anyone tell me where I might get information on this.

Thank you

Thank you

I have just finished using a string of A rings nos: L295701 - L295800, so I'm guessing that this bird will have been ringed fairly recently.

Hope it recovers. It may take a while, but see if you can let us know where and when it was ringed?

Thank you all for your help have contacted bto with details still waiting for reply. As soon as I hear anything will let you know.

Still Waiting for reply

Or go to www.bto.org.uk and fill in the on-line form (link for the reporting form half way down right hand side of page)

I am still waiting to hear from bto have sent them another gold Finch ring, unfortunately found dead in my garden too many cats around us. A couple of days ago I counted 30 Gold finches, in garden. Plus Green finches, Bull finches, Great Tits, Blue tits and Coal Tits. Unfortunately some had to queue not enough feeders.

Sorry if I did not put things clearly enough, the information I had not received was for the ring I mentioned above. And the ring on the dead Goldfinch was another bird ring beginning L6 will find details and let you know the full number. I have given the full number to the bto.

BUT Thank you Lee of bto for your information, the Gold Finch was ringed as a Juvenile at South Milton Key on the 2nd of August and was then caught by the same ringer in his garden at Ivybridge 15th September 13 km in 44days.

I get up to 30 Goldfinches a day in the garden they do love sunflower hearts.

Thanks to everyone for your help
