Help dating Zeiss Dialyt 7x42 B/GA T*P SN: 2190355 (1 Viewer)

Hello mtbengel,

If it actually reads P*, then it is a very late model. I think they may have been discontinued in 2004.

Stay safe,
Arthur

This serial number was manufactured in 1990.
Hi B_W123,

Are you able to date my 7x42 T*P 400269, and can you please tell if in fact it is T*P*?
From a previous post on the BF: "I emailed Zeiss in Germany and Zeiss emailed back confirming that there is no difference between the T*P and T*P* coatings. The extra * is for cosmetic symmetry only. It signifies no optical difference whatever." It seems that some of the first made T*P* binos were marked only T*P, and according to the quoted email from Zeiss it makes no difference if your bino is marked T*P or T*P*, but it seems there is a way of telling if yours is T*P*, the manufacturing date should be an indication but is there anything else?
