Hand-feeding Birds (1 Viewer)

A few days ago, there was a Youtube video showing a female cardinal flying to a mittened hand which held shelled peanuts. This was VERY surprising, as cardinals are extremely shy. Some of the comments opined that the video was an A.I. creation. Possibly this is as well.

Hello,

I have seen tufted titmice, nothern cardinals and black capped taking shelled peanuts from an outstretched hand, in New York's Central Park. Beware of being bitten.

Happy bird watching,
Arthur

Birds are quick studies, so when the more cautious species such as our NYC Central Park Cardinals see Titmice, Nuthatches and Chicadees pigging out on hand held seeds, they soon pluck up their courage and try themselves. A byproduct is that this also delights the visitors to NY.
