Hamburg, Germany — Is this a Carrion Crow or Eurasian Jackdaw? Maybe a juvenile Rook? (1 Viewer)

This little guy was hanging out on someone’s suitcase at a busy train station and then started playing with the piece of cardboard in the longer video I attached. It was also bullying some pigeons that it wanted food from. Very entertaining.

That being said, which kind of corvid is this? At first I thought Carrion Crow, but it seemed a bit small and shiny for a crow (although I’m from the US East Coast so I’m accustomed to Fish Crows and American Crows only). The neck is a bit grayish, so maybe a jackdaw, but I don’t know if it’s grayish enough to be a jackdaw.

It’s hard to see in the videos, but the bird was pretty shiny in person.

the easiest is to see the pale eye : it excludes all other European dark Corvids...
