Gulls Fresh water Arizona (1 Viewer)

This shot is not good... Hand held and a long reach. But there are characteristics that may make the ID.

Taken at Roosevelt Lake, Arizona... Mar 20, 10. Just below the Dam.

Dark wing tips, and marks on the tail??? Western Gulls???

Why not California Gulls? Western Gulls have darker gray and are mainly coastal.

Think Ring-billed Gull, probably scond cycles at the left and perhaps also at right but without a dark tail band.
