Hi, I am hoping someone can offer some guidelines on tipping bird guides, in particular bird guides in Ecuador.

So when I hire a bird guide and driver for a day of birding, which person should I tip? And how much? How should I determine an amount?

Your thoughts on this will be appreciated.

I cannot answer you about tipping guides, but I have seen that this issued is described in various trip reports - so you might find some answers there. I normally use the Travellingbirde site to find my reports when I prepare my trips:
