No disrespect Paul but dont take it the wrong way, that people wont reply to your question. Its nothing personal but they are a very rare species and their protection is paramount.

No offence but the guys asking when eagles hatch not when they lay eggs or where are the nest sites .... lighten up guys

Plus there are plenty of WTE , GE webcams online mostly in scandanavia etc ..google those whatever stage the birds are at ..Scotland isnt so different .. there you go painless ..oops ive gave the secret away Golden Eagles nest in Scotland

Egg laying usually mid March/mid April, fledging usually July-early Aug - have a look for Jeff Watson's Poyser mongraph The Golden Eagle.

Cheers,
Andrew

Many thanks Harry and Andrew for your replies. I know the Golden eagle is protected but I don't think any big secret was asked. Hope they have a good year , with this good weather it looks like they might

Its funny because there must be a time period of about 2 or maybe even 3 weeks between Golden Eagle's and the time of year they lay there eggs.

This might be helpfull for your project the fact that different weather conditions may dictate when certain birds might lay. I know of a pair that lay as early as 2nd week in March incubate for the 45 days chick or chicks hatch and are on the nest for another 60 to 65 days and fly very early July. This pair are more used to the Weather like what we have in England "Although they are in Scotland "therefore lay hatch and fly the nest probably a lot earlier than those Eagle's in the far North.

Other Eagle's not far from Inverness flew the nest last year back end of July so like I say you might find that the further North you go the later they might fledge. This is just my opinion PR I could be wrong I am just speaking from past experiences.

The Incubation period of 45 days then 60/65 on the nest is something you can find out quite easily if you Googled it so I don't think anyone can accuse me of letting any big secrets out.

cheers
David
