My Goldfinches have disappeared here in Barrie Ontario at my Feeders, I have read they go south, but another Birder told me they stay in the winter? And they band together in large groups? Is it possible they will return?

If you drive around town and check out feeders you will find some
American Goldfinches. Although many have left, I get AGFs every day
while birding around Guelph.
