Glasgow Binocular Repair (1 Viewer)

At the turn of the year i was considering buying myself a new pair of bins as i was begining to think that my zeiss dialyt 10x40b's were getting a bit tired and needed to be replaced. however finances quickly dictated that this wasnt going to happen so i looked into the possibility of having my existing binoculars serviced and cleaned, after a bit of shopping around i sent them off to Dougie in Glasgow Binocular Repairs. Got them back today and my god what a difference, crystal clear even in the lowest light, smooth operation, a wonderful job through out, the binoculars are just like new and about £800 cheaper than i was originally looking at spending. highly recommended.

Hello Neill,

I cannot bear to cast away an old binocular. Finding a reliable and reasonable optical technician is often a task. I am happy to read that you happily resuscitated an old glass.

Happy bird watching,

hi neil, yes you are completely spot on, dougie at glasgow binocular repairs
is the company for me, i have dealt with them over the years, and, have
been very happy with the service which is excellent.. a.t.b. frae mee JSD
in bellshill in scotland..

I recently sent in my badly miscollimated 8x50 Super Nobilems to Dougie, what a difference when they returned! Back in collimation, optics cleaned, though he couldn't do anything about a badly chipped prism (very rare to find spares) but despite that the view is now stunning! My only minor gripe is that the external of the binocular wasn't cleaned but that doesn't bother me, as the optics were sorted which is the most important thing :D

Over the past years I have had approximately 20 sets of binoculars through Dougie's workshop at GBR and have never received anything less than a 100% service as Dougie only ever does a good job.
What I have given him has ranged from Barr and Strouds needing a complete rebuild to WW2 Zeiss which required cleaning, 10x80's ( Flakglas) which needed a complete overhaul to Ross which need an overhaul.
I would not consider sending a set to any other agent, gets my vote every time.

Dialyt

Hi, anyone knows if this great service is still available at Glasgow Bins? I have a pair of Zeiss Dialyt 7x42T*P that needs an internal cleaning and a focus knob repair.
I wonder much these repairs will mount to? (Excluding p&p from/to Denmark).

Thank you!
