Gitzo for Travel scope? (1 Viewer)

The B&H anniversary packages look like a good deal:
Both come with Center Ball Head.
For an ATC/Kowa 554, etc. do I want the 1 or 2 series?

Gitzo GT1545T Series 1 Traveler Carbon Fiber Tripod with Center Ball Head & GM2542 Carbon Fiber Monopod (Special 50th Anniversary Kit)

Gitzo GT2545T Series 2 Traveler Carbon Fiber Tripod with Center Ball Head & GM2542 Carbon Fiber Monopod (Special 50th Anniversary Kit)

The GT1545T should do nicely for a small travel scope. It works reasonably well with the EDIIIA that is quite a bit heavier than ATC or the Kowa.

The GT2545T would of course be more stable - but it's heavier. Not sure about the ball head, I'd still prefer a video head.

THanks Hermann!

B&H also has a $100 off special on the Gitzo GHF2W birding head, though it would be comically large on a Traveler.

Thanks. I took a chance on the smaller Gitzo. We’ll see how it goes…. Worst case I’ll return and upgrade to the 25 series.
