Im shocked that the owl would mess with such a large predatory bird i thought GHO feared eagles. Keep in mind they are smaller then euros eagle owls

I can imagine that a GHO would kill the young eagles in the nest but I do not think that they would (or can) kill an adult Bald Eagle.

I know of no records that an Eagle Owl ever killed an adult White-tailed Eagle (which forms a superspecies with the Bald Eagle and is about the same size) or another adult big eagle like a Golden Eagle or an Eastern Imperial Eagle.

a GHO/Eagle owl could possibly take a goldie at night, it would never hear the owl comming and might never know what hit it.

i dont doubt the GHO's fearlessness for a minute, ive heard of them attacking whitetail fawns, coyotes and even a great dane.

I have to change my mind a bit here. I recently heard of a case where an Eagle Owl killed a very young (but already able to fly) Golden Eagle in Spain.
there are also cases where Eagle Owls killed adult Bonelli's Eagle.
those guys are really very powerful birds.
