I have a set of 7x50 mm marine binocs, and they may need to be collimated and cleaned. Looking for a few suggestions close to Virginia. Thanks Chas

Suddarth opticle in Oklahoma, just spoke with Cory Suddarth. Turn arround 3 weeks, will keep you guys posted. Thanks for all the help!

I didn't mention these guys because they're in California (not very near VA) but they are one of I think two licensed Fujinon warranty facilities in the US.

Somehow my Fuji 7x50's developed a crack in one prism and these guys fixed them up like new and really for much less than I expected.
I also sent a pair of KOMZ BPO's to Cory and he did an outstanding job. They were bought from Canada and arrived badly out of collimation.
Top notch on both accounts.

Chas,
I wanted to say Cory, but figured that was too far away from you. He gets highest marks over on the Cloudy Nights forum, and is also known for using Fujinon Mark V collimator.

Thanks again!

When I first got these they were very bright and so clear, and now after about 20 years and a fall off my two story deck they still seem to be collimated but image is much softer. I have had many good optics over the years starting with a Televue 85 telescope then a Pentax 80mm spotting scope then onto a Ziess 85 Diascope which showed the best views of Saturn I have ever seen. As far as binoculars I have had the top glass from Lieca and Ziess and still have my ITE Labt 100mm binoculars, and last month bought a set of Zen Rays 8x43 ED3s after returning the 8.5 x 45 Vanguards. The Vanguards returned only because the fit and finish of Zens is so much nicer. I am lucky to have bought property on the beach on the Chesapeake bay in Virginia 35 yrs ago when it was affordable and have wonderful views in which to gaze. Sorry for the rambling, I guess too much coffee!
