FRP becoming detached and lost (2 Viewers)

Has anyone else experienced the 10x42 NL Pure Forehead Rest becoming detached and lost and an expensive loss as that.
This has happened to mine and I know of at least one other birder friend this happening too ,twice.
Bad design ?
It would be interesting to know if this has been experienced by other birders.

I’ve had two shear off and snap in the case but not one detach yet

No, mine is firmly attached to the bino.

Mine was firmly attached, yet did come off once, not seemingly for any reason. Fortunately I didn't lose it and it has not detached since, but it makes me somewhat wary.
