I live in a rural area in Norway, north-west of Oslo. I found this attractive looking hole at the edge of a field near my house.

A few days later I went to check it again, I found that the leaves were brushed aside and there were some footprints at the entrance:

At first I thought it was a badger sett, given the location (at the edge of a forest and field), but there are no badger paths on the field, and the tracks look more like fox paw prints to me. I haven't seen either a fox nor a badger around. The hole looks to be too big to dug by a dog, and people here generally do not let their dogs loose in the forest, at least not for long enough for the dog to dig such a hole!
What do you think?
