First time in NZ - March 2025 (1 Viewer)

If I fire off enough shots, maybe just one of 'em
Hi all and happy new year :)

I’m lucky enough to have a work trip to NZ in March and have 3 days stay-on at the end.
I’ll be finishing in New Plymouth and flying home from Auckland.

My instincts say get to Auckland and spend 3 days there but would love to know if I’m missing a trick before I book any accommodation.

I’m just into the photography side and tend more towards parks & gardens as the birds tend to be a little more tolerant of proximity.
Not looking to chase rarities or join groups, rather just wander around somewhere nice on my own and grab what I can, a lot will be new to me anyway and it’s the photography for me rather than ticking lists.

Any suggestions, thoughts, heads-ups?

Appreciate any help you can give.

Boat trip from Auckland to Tiritiri Matangi sanctuary and maybe stay overnight I reckon if you only have a short time and are photography focused.

Thanks for the reply (y)(Sorry for the slow response, no notification for it)

Unfortunately my 2 full days off are Monday 17th & Tuesday 18th, when it is closed!

So close😫
