Hi there,

I saw this Finch along a side road in a small valley just off the Karakoram Highway in far western China. I think its a finch anyway. Maybe Brandt's Mountain Finch?

I'd suggest a Plain Mountain Finch, there seems to be a few dark markings on the undertail coverts, ssp in Xinjiang would be altaica - http://orientalbirdimages.org/photo...irderimages&Bird_Image_ID=63311&Birder_ID=798

darth's bird definitely has well-developed legs, which sadly seems to rule out Sillem's.
