Feeding birds (1 Viewer)

I feed the birds. Mealworms, seed mixes, now the hummingbirds are arriving. I have a one week trip planned. I don’t have anyone to mind the feeders while I’m away.
I need peace of mind knowing the birds will be ok while I’m gone. I’m sure they will I just need someone to say so.

The birds will be a-ok when you're gone, they must be hardy, so no worries. :] What do you like to feed them? I personally feed mine bananas!

Yes, the birds will come back to check the empty feeder for a while.
One week is not too long, once you get back and fill the feeder again they will continue on like you never left. :)

The American Goldfinches are ignoring the finch feeder with sunflower chips and Nyger any suggestions?

I've never heard of American Goldfinches until your post, but there's some different situations:

If it's a new food: they need to "discover" it's there so they can eat it.
If they usually eat it perhaps they just feel like something else, my own birds have different tastes over time even within the same species.

Google suggests giving them the food you are already giving them but it's also good to experiment with new types of food too, you may even discovery they like eating something new which nobody else has found yet.
