Ethiopia -- Siffling Cisticola ?? (1 Viewer)

Greetings,

Last week I was in Gambella, Ethiopia, visiting a friend and birding. I was looking out for a new-for-me species Siffling/Short-winged Cisticola (Cisticola brachypterus) and got a photo of this individual. It appears to have the right field marks (non-breeding streaked back, brown rather than rufous wing panel and tail, white contrasting throat, buff and black tail tip bands), but I would like to check in here to make sure. From my two trips to the area, most of the cisticolas tended to be the more distinct species such as Red-pate, Red-faced, Foxy, etc. I could possibly confuse this species with Winding, but I think that would have a longer tail and show more grayish colors in the back. I did not hear this bird vocalizing (BoHoA field guide says that is the best identifier).

Let me know what you think!
Justin
