Errant Bulbul - Shiga, Japan (1 Viewer)

Hello there

I have attached a photo of (what I presume to be) a Brown-eared Bulbul, of which there are tens of thousands in Japan. My issue is the colouring of the plumage - mainly the yellow behind the bill, and the paler than usual front. Is this a juvenile bird or something else?

Best wishes,
Ross

I don't entirely understand what you mean by 'the paler than usual front' (both the forehead and the throat look OK to me, and we can't see the front in the ordinary sense), but without more detailed photos, for the yellow I can't see how you can rule out just the remains of something it ate.
