English to French bird names (1 Viewer)

Hi,
Does anybody know of a web site where I can download a full list of English to French bird names please? The only ones I can find allow translation of single species but I would like a full list to take with me to France.

On second thoughts, this seems much more comprehensive. Click on the family of birds and it gives you a pretty decent list. I guess to compile it to print off, copy all the text into a text file and then import it into MS Excell which makes it easier to strip away any unneeded information.

Geoff,
Send me you e-mail by PM. In any case, Latin - French. I don't think you will find an English-French Common Name list unless you look on some sites in Quebec.

French/English species names

I have a full world list of French/English species names in an Excel spreadsheet. If you want it please PM me and I will send it to you attached to a mail.

As it is whole world it might be a bit big for a trip just across the Channel!!!

I don't recall where it came from so I hope it is not somebody's copyright...

French Birdlist

Hi Geoff
I have an English/French list that came from
ourworld.compuserve/homepages/roger_buglass/Gbfr.htm
however I have just tried it and could not get onto the website.
If you cannot get this site, search for Avimonde or even the LPO, both are great organisations and always willing to help.
regards
Merlin

Thanks very much for the info', the Avibase web site not only gives a check list for loads of countries in English but if you click on one of the other languages it also shows them in that language and the English translation.
Geoff.
